Steve and Narmatha came to us with a growing family, a young son and another baby on the way, ready to find a long term family home. They wanted an area with cultural diversity in the local schools, a sense of community, and a property they could either add their own touch to or eventually rebuild when the timing was right.
Given Steve’s inner west upbringing, Croydon felt familiar, a tree lined suburb with the character and lifestyle they were chasing. When we uncovered a post war, low set brick home on a 407 m² block in a quiet street, it aligned perfectly: enough land for future options, but not the type of site heavily targeted by duplex developers, which helped keep competition in check.
This was always a “forever play”, so strategy mattered. After an earlier pre auction attempt did not get the vendor over the line, we reset and focused on a clear auction plan, including defined walk away numbers and bidding tactics to manage emotion on the day.
Auction day was intense, with strong bidding and plenty of competition, but we stayed disciplined and ultimately walked away holding the keys.
Now, Steve and Narmatha are looking forward to making memories in Croydon with a home they can live in and love today, and a block that gives them the flexibility to renovate or rebuild for their family’s next chapter when the time comes.
