This client came to us as a single mum looking to secure a home in one of Brisbane’s popular suburbs. Her brief was clear: she wanted a townhouse with genuine yard space where she could settle in and make it her own.
Finding properties she liked wasn’t the problem. The challenge was actually securing one.
She had already missed out on a number of properties and was finding it difficult to understand where she needed to be on price in a market that was continuing to move quickly. Adding to the pressure was her place in the Government’s Help to Buy scheme, which was due to expire in November.
After a couple of weeks working together, we identified a freestanding townhouse in a small, boutique complex. It had the yard space she wanted, was close to the train station, shops and other amenities, and offered exactly the type of lifestyle she had been searching for.
We knew this was one we needed to move on.
The biggest challenge was the price point. While parts of the broader Brisbane market had started to slow, properties in this more affordable and highly competitive segment were still attracting plenty of buyers and performing strongly.
After some negotiation, we were able to secure the property and then guide her through the process all the way to unconditional.
After repeatedly experiencing the disappointment of missing out, being able to tell her that she had finally secured her home was incredibly rewarding.
We couldn’t be happier for her and the next chapter ahead.
